Tell us about yourself, Teppo
Hi! My name is Teppo Tirkkonen, and I’m a 22-year old photographer and content creator from Finland with four years of experience in working with domestic and international brands and companies. I’m keen on living simple life, travelling to remote places and trying new tricks! Aside from photography, I’m doing a degree on International Business.
Passions? What are you working on at the moment?
I’m passionate about creating. I love the process of getting an idea, bringing it to life and finally publishing the final creation and getting feedback. The fact that my work inspires so many other people is something that keeps me coming back to this process.
At the moment I’ve been working on creating more physical prints of my photos and selling my artwork. Stepping out of the comfort zone of the digital world has been a fun change.
What is your favourite travelling spot in the Nordic?
Iceland is on top of my list. However, most of the time I find myself travelling to Finnish Lapland and Arctic Norway. The colder, the better! I love the chilly vibes and ice covered landscapes.
What do you always carry with you when travelling?
A camera, my favourite handmade fisherman wool sweater for cold nights and my convertible bag. I’m a big fan of minimalism, and I try to bring that mindset to packing as well, that’s why the Sørensen bags really caught my eye in the first place.
What does a typical day in your life look like?
My morning usually starts with brewing a cup of good coffee and taking a moment to appreciate the new day. Currently, my days are all about balancing between the business school and photography work, both personal and commissioned. In the free time you’ll find me road tripping, adventuring and enjoying the nature of course.
What are your plans the next couple of years?
I’m looking forward to living and working abroad for a longer period of time somewhere in the future. Last time I was working for three months in remote Greenland, and I’d like to do something similar again. For me, it’s all about staying active and constantly taking on new challenges. This will take you on the most exciting and unpredictable adventures.
